When changing the color or texture of the image, pay attention to the Alpha value. Once you have a model open in Sketchup, open the 2D graphic window. To simulate water, you may want a smooth, wave-like texture. With your material loaded in the editor, select one of the Glass Templates. Just select the appropriate template from the list. In addition to solid materials, Twilight Render supports a wide range of Transparent and Semi-Transparent materials, like glass and water. 'Invert Texture' is used to reverse the direction of the bump effect. The Bump ' Size' is a multiplier that controls how big the bump effect will be. You can also choose to use the SketchUp material texture, if one is applied in SketchUp. With your material loaded in the Material Editor, change Bump to ' Texture'. Most Twilight Render templates support bump maps, and make it easy to apply them. Typically, bump maps use a texture to simulate a rough or wavy surface. I will choose this file and enable the Texture option’s radio button. The file should be in image file format so that we can import it as texture in Sketchup. Now navigate for your desired background file in the opened dialog box. One of the most effective material features is adding a Bump Map. Now go to the File menu of the menu bar and click on it, then choose the Import option of the drop-down list. Properties like IOR and Shininess can be edited by entering a new number. You can change it by choosing Color from the drop down, then selecting a new color. By default, the Templates always use the SketchUp material color or texture. Color represents the primary color of the material. You will see things like Color, Bump, IOR (index of refraction) and others. The properties that can be edited will now be available. Choose a template from the Templates menu. You will see the material open in the editor. Click in the scene, on the material that you want to edit. The editor window will open, and the material selection tool (the eyedropper) will be enabled.
Grey areas will appear partially transparent, such as glass.
It refers to the Opacity value, so a black area (which equals zero) on the image used will result in a perfectly transparent portion of the surface, while a white area will appear perfectly opaque.
